Anna Vanessa G. Corpuz: I an Online English Teacher. I am located at Sta. Rosa, Laguna Philippines. As a transcriptionist, I can say that I have the abilities. I am nursing graduate with the license so I can very well understand medical terms. My listening skills are very good as well since I have been a Call Center Agent for a year. I have done some database encoding jobs as well.
Archie: How long have you been working as a transcriptionist? How did you start in this profession? What are the factors that prompted you to pursue a career in this field?
Anna Vanessa G. Corpuz: n/a (not applicable)
Archie: Which do you prefer: to work home based or in an office setting? Please explain briefly
Anna Vanessa G. Corpuz: As of now I prefer to work home base. I have been working for the past five years. I have been always out the house. Now I that I just recently got married and hoping to have a baby I want to stay at home and be able to focus more on having a child. The good thing about the home base job is that you can earn money from the comfort of your own home without the hassles of traffic and other stressful things out there.
Archie: Which among these transcription work most appeal to your interest: Medical, General (Business, podcasts, interviews), or Legal Transcription.
Anna Vanessa G. Corpuz: I may say that I can transcribe any of which. But, Medical is much easier for my part since I am a nurse.
Archie: What, for you, is the most important characteristic or quality to become an effective and productive transcriptionist?
Anna Vanessa G. Corpuz: First of all is the listening skills. You have to be very attentive so as for you to understand what you have to transcribe. Dedication… In anything that you have to do your dedication would have to be there.
Archie: Thank you for your time.
