Anya: I can say I am on Level 1 MT. Currently, I am located in The Philippines, Mindanao, Iligan City. I am not presently connected to a company or an organization.

Archie: How long have you been working as a transcriptionist? How did you start in this profession? What are the factors that prompted you to pursue a career in this field?

Anya: I have been working as a Transcriptionist for quite a while, maybe about 2 months because I was attending personal business that made me not hold long of the transcription profession. The career demand of being a transcriptionist is the factor that made me pursue in this field.

Archie: Which do you prefer: to work home based or in an office setting? Please explain briefly

Anya: I’d prefer working home-based I am still not capable of living alone far from home.

Archie: Which among these transcription work most appeal to your interest: Medical, General (Business, podcasts, interviews), or Legal Transcription.

Anya: Medical transcription is the most appealing work for me since I am a nursing Grad so it would not be a difficult task for me transcribing medical terms and medical related files.

Archie: What, for you, is the most important characteristic or quality to become an effective and productive transcriptionist?

Anya: For me, it is being knowledgeable is the most important characteristic in becoming an effective and productive transcriptionist. And to add up, patience will be counted as well.

Archie: Being a seasoned transcriptionist, what do you think is the best advice you can give to people who are interested to enter this field?

Anya: The best advice I could give to people interested in this field is to enhance their vocabulary skills since they’re writing, in most cases, unclear voice files, so they will be knowledgeable enough about grammar and vocabulary.

Archie: Thank you for your time.
