In this article, we’ll feature an interview with Jade Sitjar done previously from our old transcription blog. He’s honored, actually and never thought he’d be invited here. Jade was a Medical Transcription student for the time being.
He had a 2-week job experience on general transcription though. He had not yet worked as a transcriptionist but had planned to work upon graduation at MTC Academy last October 2011.
He preferred to work home-based, but considering that he was an amateur in this career, most of the time, he had to ask some assistance from senior medical transcriptionists.
He was mostly interested to medical transcription other than general or legal transcription. He had come to this considering that he has a degree in Biology. He also considered legal transcription as an option.
The most important characteristic or quality to become an effective and productive transcriptionist according to Jade is a good memory. In that way, you would have less time to search for unfamiliar words most physicians use during an assessment.
The best advice he would have to say for another transcriptionist who had just finished training is to never stop learning because it’s part of a medical transcriptionist’s job.
