Working as a Medical Transcriptionist in Saudi Arabia is a Great Experience

Once I chanced upon a fellow medical transcriptionist in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia through Facebook. I encouraged her to share her story here on my blog so as to give some inspiration to other transcriptionists who are planning to work abroad. We would not want to be the cause of our fellow Filipinos leaving our country, but since we have experienced working here in Saudi Arabia, we just want to share our experience. Many of us hear sad stories of Filipinos working in Saudi Arabia. But the work condition is not the same for all of us OFWs. We were not very fortunate but still, we don’t consider ourselves being enslaved here since we have a decent work. As per my experience working as a medical transcriptionist in a Saudi government hospital, I had a chance to compare this to the experience of the person I had talked on Facebook. She also worked in a government hospital in Riyadh, where she shared that working here in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is a great experience. She also was thankful she beca...

Text to Text Transcription Overview

Text to text transcription is a manner of converting a handwritten material into MS Word format. In medical transcription, the doctor writes the medical report in a form wherein he fills up necessary information like the history of present illness up to the impression and plan. The medical report is then signed and is to be given to the transcription department. The transcriptionist then transcribes the written report using appropriate software available at the hospital health information database system. The medical transcriptionist should have the ability to interpret the doctor’s hand writing which is commonly not legible. In any case that the transcriptionist has unintelligible words, he should ask the doctor for help. If the hospital has outsourced the services for transcription, faxed and scanned or PDF copies are sent to the transcription company. The transcriptionist is to retrieve these copies to the secured online server. The transcription company should have the capacity to ...

Creating a Team of Transcriptionists for Part-Time and Home-Based Job

I only require few transcriptionists who have spare time to do a small number of the voice file. Part time and home based only (for additional income in your existing home-based work). There are no required working hours to achieve. Will work simultaneously while I work at the agreed time (usually when I’m online on my Gtalk). Voice File assignment will be given and the turn around time shall be discussed later. Voice file assignment may not be daily, so it is better if you have other home-based transcription work. Has the good attitude towards work. Compensation will be discussed through e-mail.
