There’s No Way But Up to Become an Audio Transcriptionist

For every job seeker, of course, the experience is such a great plus to a resume, but as for me, experience-wise, I had none. When I first stepped the realm of transcription, medical at that, the basic thing I knew that would somehow relate me to the job was that it’s an encoding sort of thing. I had not undergone a short-term transcription course as most of the batch did in the company where I became part of as production team; although, before the real work, we had a two-month training. Before transcription, I just had encoding and proofreading jobs, but that’s just it. So, on the earlier part of my formal training/evaluation as the transcriptionist (medical), I really did experience ‘real’ headaches listening and deciphering inaudible words and I really would want to cry. During evaluation days, honestly, I was always on the bottom rank as 80% of my co-trainees were graduates of the short-term medical transcription course. Nonetheless, despite such result, I still made it through ti...

How to Increase Daily Productivity in Audio Transcription

A productive audio transcriptionist is being measured by a number of audio files transcribed. This will reflect in your earnings if you are doing home-based transcription or in your performance appraisal if you’re working as an office based-transcriptionist. There are various ways on how to increase one’s productivity and here are a few of them. First of all, you have to listen very carefully to the audio or speaker’s voice that you need to transcribe. Because listening is the best part of a good production and especially in conversation. Without listening to the audio files, how can you understand it and transcribe it perfectly? It is a very basic thing, but it can be the right thing to do. Second, you have to understand every word and the tone of the speaker for you to transcribe it more efficiently especially the quotations, commas, periods, and etc. Because writing can be more understandable if it has a right tone and pause. Third, you have to work in a quiet and comfortable surrou...

The Crawl of a Newbie Article Writer to the Online World

It was almost six years ago when I started looking for online jobs so that I can earn a little extra money and buy some stuff I want and need. I was being influenced by my sister who was working for a blog site that time. She was writing tons of articles every day to maintain the content of the site. After a month, I saw her earnings and right there on, I was motivated to find a job too. Finding a client was tough, though. I am still a newbie and still wandering the corners of online jobs. After a quite some time, I had my luck and found my first client. My task was to write 10 articles a day, with 350 words each. I was very happy that I got a job but sad to say, after a month, my client said she was going to terminate the job because of unknown reasons. The good part was, I got paid. It did not stop there. I still looked for other clients and I got different employers. Some are paying while some are experts in hide-and-never-seek during payday. I scanned through various online jobs an...
